Super Bowl Night brought a guest judge, a 40-point scale, and the first 9s across the board this season. Two couples got them.
Top of the board. Jenna Dewan & Val Chmerkovskiy (paso doble, “Bad Romance”) and Ezra Frech & Daniella Karagach (salsa, “Hot in Herre”) tied on 36/40, all 9s, with Joe Buck sitting in as the fourth judge. Amber Glenn & Pasha Pashkov were just behind on 34 for a samba to “Mi Gente”. A 36 is not a perfect score, whatever you read this morning.
The middle. Maura Higgins, Julia Stiles and Harry Shum Jr. all landed on 33. Julia’s JLo jazz number was a deliberate Save the Last Dance callback, with Sean Patrick Thomas on hand, and got her first 8s. Harry’s samba drew a pointed note from Carrie Ann about needing more content, which Jenna Johnson did not enjoy hearing. Jackson Olson (31), Tyler Cameron (30) and Tatyana Ali (29) made up the rest of the middle.
Numbers worth holding on to.

- Kalshi has Ezra Frech at 56¢ to win. Jenna Dewan, level on scores, is at 5¢. The ten open contracts sum to 104¢, so this is a real market now, not a mood ring.
Who went home. Guillermo Rodriguez & Witney Carson, after a salsa to Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” that scored 22, his best yet and still the lowest of the night. The scores called it this time. His fanbase had carried him past the bottom before, but it ran out one week short of the obvious punchline.
Bubble watch for Dedication Night. Connor Wood (25, lowest still standing) survived on votes, and the market actually firmed on him. Tatyana Ali is the quieter danger: a respectable 29, but trading at 1¢, which is what a thin fanbase looks like. Tyler Cameron at 30 is next in line.
